APRIL 30, 2012 *** MONDAY

Good Morning friends,

As you know I love these Mojo sketches and they are a great way to get your mojo going on a Monday morning---
So here goes my inspiration.
I chose the square - pretty obvious ?

What a great day today, the sun is shining early and the fog has lifted.
If you look closely at the background of the base of my card you will see flowers and faces. I used Jenni Bowlin malted milk ink to put the image from Asian Flowers (Paper Trey Ink) and the
princess faces ( peachy keen stamps) on to the base to form my own background paper.
I wanted it to be very subtle and I think I was successful.
For my base I used fine linen, then Terra cotta tile, Kraft , aqua mist patterned paper.
and vintage cream for my ribbon. I used the Fiskars punch for the punched border and
spellbinders labels 4  of course I had to add liquid pearls my new favorite. The I love you sentiment is from My Pink Stampers " Lunch Box thought"

Challenges:
MOJO: sketch
DCD: pearls punches/ or pins
Peachy Keen: Make your own background
Kraft Journal: Use any sketch challenge (I used mojo)
Amusing challenge: Anything goes
Pile It on: Mother's day no flowers
The paper players : Tic Tac Toe-- I chose  a square card, ribbon, and designer pape.

I hope you all have a Blessed day and Hope you enjoyed my project.
Hugs Diana

APRIL 29. 2012*** SUNDAY*** CHECK IT OUT

 Hi Everyone,

I got this great Cartridge called Spring Cottage awhile ago.

I have been playing around with it, and love this cut. You would think this was a Texas strawberry. Either that or the basket is too small. It was really fun and I will do it again.  I think I cut them both at 5"
That is it for now.
I hope you have a good night. A blessed day tomorrow.
Hugs, Diana

APRIL 27, 2012 ***FRIDAY*** MAKE a WISH

Good Evening Friends

Our city sure is busy these days .

We have had so many visitors here.

The weather has been great so we have had an increased number of  tourists.  Usually tourist season doesn't come until memorial  weekend.

Schools in the area are getting out 2 weeks earlier than usual,  so the graduation parties are beginning.

Here is something fun I made, I am on the glitter kick still.  My friend Amy over at Amy's crafting place is always so encouraging with the glitter.

I am using Kraft card stock
the green is from a new DCWV paper
pack that I recently got called Chateau lavender
the doilie is from Authentique
make a wish is from quick kuts.
I ran it through my xyron   and then put glitter on it
I used a Sakura pen around the edges for the faux stitched look

CHALLENGES:
CTO:b-day with ribbon
Little Scrap pieces: use a bow

Have a great evening, Be blessed, Diana

MOTHER'S DAY using a pen or a marker
of some sort.

I played around with the pens and found that I could get about thirty -six to 48 images like this out of one pen. If the image is more intricate I would imagine you would get less.  If you look close you can see the glittery effect. I really like them and enjoyed working with them.  The little deer image is from Cindy Loo. I haven't quite decided what I am going to do with these images, but you will be the first to know .

So, After I played around, I figured I would make another Mother's day card. This is black paper trey ink paper and I used the silver metallic pen. You can see how well it reproduces on the black. Anything you can cut with the cricut you can draw with the pens.  There is a technique you can use for drawing with the pens and then putting the blade back in and then cutting. I think that would be more easily explained in a video keep your eyes peeled that may be coming up soon. My Happy Mothers day below is from Floral Embellishments, cricut cartridge. This is the first time I have used this cartridge.

Then,  I used the pen to draw the lattice work  and then put the blade in to cut it out. The image is  from the letter envy cartridge.

Then the finale,  putting it all together. My card stock and ribbon are Paper trey ink. The white paper is Bazzill. The pearl is liquid pearl white opal. I really like the way it came out it has a nice formal look

I hope you enjoyed this post and I am looking forward to seeing your creative design and entry in this challenge.

APRIL 25, 2012*** I LOVE YOU MOM***

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday,

It is my  design day, for Shop Pumpkin Spice.

I 'm thinking of Mother's day right now, not only is that right around the corner, but my mom's birthday is in a few days. So I thought I better get busy on some ideas for her gift also and because earth day was this past weekend, I thought I would recycle this box that a candle came in.
I used the Authentique "Uncommon Collection" to cover the box and make a coordinating card.
The twine is from the Twinery , stone. The brad is from MME lost and found breeze everywhere. Which is part of the March "Boy Crazy kit". I love you Mom sentiment is from My Pink Stamper "Lunch Box thoughts" sentiment set. I used chalk box inks set espresso to ink the edges. The rosette is handmade from the same paper collection.  I added cotton candy stickles to the top right corner.  All the brands I used can be purchased at Shop Pumpkin Spice.

If you like the products you see here,  go check out Shop Pumpkin Spice. The products are very good quality and great prices.
Our challenge is going on right now, until the end of the month, for a chance to win May's kit.
If you purchase the April kit and use it for your project, you will get a second entry

The May Kit $16.95

Leave some love over at my post ath the Pumpkin Spice blog,  I would really appreciate it.

APRIL 23, 2012***MONDAY***BEE-U-TIFUL***

Good Evening Friends,

You caught me, playing in my art room. I still haven't put everything away, in fact I have more out now, you know how that goes with the glitter?
I don't want to put it away.  You know, you get it all set up, and it is easy, so I made another card to fit some more challenges.

I used PTI Kraft card stock
I used ac card stock for the bee and it was cut from Give a hoot and printed  from Nursery Tails (IC)
the glitter is MS white gold
I used petal pink liquid pearls
My pink Stamper : sentiment from punny licious
ink Jenni Bowlin chewing gum.
BBTB2: Bee or a lady bug
Stampin sisters in Christ: Pastels
Kraft Journal: kids
little scrap pieces: use purple or pink

The last 2 days were like summer and then today it was drizzly, not a good day for golf.
Have a blessed Evening, Diana

APRIL 23, 2012***MONDAY***VROOM VROOM***

Good Afternoon Friends,

I needed a card for a little guy's birthday. I am so thankful for the MOJO Monday sketches. I flipped it again ( I did that last week), because it worked better for my image. To me it takes the guess work out of designing the card.  Don't get me wrong I love designing, but seeing other designs is where inspiration comes from.

I hope you enjoy. I am making some headway in my art room. I got my glitter out, so I will be working with this for a while.  Once I put it away I don't use it, it is away for a long time. I am going to try and put it in a spot I can get to it easily. The key is to remember where I put it.(he he)
The cricut cut I used is from Just because cards it is the first. I think that is such a cute little car and my sentiment is from MY PINK STAMPER "BOY CRAZY"
You can get this at quite a on line retailers or directly from My Pink Stamper or Shop Pumpkin Spice, which by the way has some great prices and while you are there browsing a round remember that you still have a week to join in the  pumpkin spice  challenge.

Challenge:
Mojo Monday: sketch
FCC: travel

I hope you have more of a blessed day

APRIL 23, 2012***MONDAY***HAPPY BIRTHDAY***

Good Morning Friends,

I still haven't cleaned up my art room, am I bad?
I really needed to get this card made. A friend that I see tomorrow is having a birthday, so I thought I better get this out of the way before laundry, cleaning, and all the other Monday stuff.  In keeping with the Zambian theme, because my birthday friend is going on the  Zambia mission trip. I thought I would make balloons with the animal print paper,  3  of the balloons have glitter on them, I think that really gives it  more depth. I love the way this card came out. The red balloon shines, just like she does.  Hope you enjoy my card.

APRIL 22, 2012***SUNDAY***CONFERENCE TABLES***

    Happy Sunday Afternoon Friends,

The conference was awesome,
The women had such a wonderful time.  One young lady came up to me afterward and in tears said she did not want leave, she enjoyed it so much.  It was a good feeling. The whole purpose of the conference is to help women reach their full potential, to connect with other women and form strong support groups and connect with other women in the community
I really need to clean my art room before I can make any more projects.  But, I thought I would share these photos of the conference set up  with you. We had the main room for the meals the fashion show and the guest speaker. Off to the side was an area for shopping --- a small boutique.  Then there were rooms to break up into  various workshops. Then, in the very back I set up a prayer room/walk - a very quiet place to meditate and reflect.

These were taken just before the lunch while all the women were in their work shops
If you look in the far left where the light is shining , that is the prayer room.
This is the boutique area over to the right.

Our guest speaker spoke a long time, but you really did not want her to stop. She is a super story teller and I can't wait to read her book.  Her name is Janet Mitchell and the book is called "Taking a Stand"

All the tables had animal print tablecloths on them, because this conference helps fund the women's ministry Zambia mission.  We had such a great team of women working together to make all this come together and look effortless. I feel so blessed to be part of this community.

Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings to all of you, Diana

Good Morning Everyone,

I will be at the women's conference all day today. I made this last night for one of the ladies who said she liked hearts.  I wanted to post something for all of you to.  Any way, I got this cartridge in the mail yesterday I could not wait to make a card with it.  I have been bidding on  it for 2 weeks on E-bay and I could never get it at the price I wanted so I just went and ordered it from another vender. I LOVE  IT A LATTE can you guess which one it is?  Hopefully I will find a challenge for it either today or Sunday. I'm sure I will be pretty tired when I get home today.

4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Liquid pearls and glossy accent

I am really looking forward to it, but I better get to bed because it is already today and I need my sleep.

I am so thrilled, Cathie gave each one of us one of these bow makers and I can now make a bow that looks presentable. If you have noticed my projects for the last few weeks there are a lot of bows. I owe it to this bow maker.  It is awesome

Here is my project:

I love how this card came out this is such a cute image from the new  Cricut cartridge "Paper doll teen scene". I must be a kid at heart playing with paper dolls. My patterned paper on the girl is from the All wrapped up imagine cartridge and then my other papers are from the "Boy Crazy March kit from SPS. The sentiment is from "MY PINK STAMPER" lunch box thoughts I only used part of the sentiment. It seemed to work.

big or little here is the solution! You can check out Cathie's Video HERE and see this Bow Maker in action!  It is so funny, the audio is not working quite right--- It really does sound like something from a spooky movie, you still get the idea, and the nice thing is Cathie jokes about herself. She has such a great sense of humor and she is so generous, she is really fun to design for and I have to give a shout out to Carri the busy bee for being super coordinator

Good Afternoon,

I was asked the other day if my art room was cleaned up meaning things put away, that was my take on it. I have to say, If you see me posting a lot,  I can guarantee you, my room looks like I was burglarized.  Once this week is over I will have a long breather to be able to get my art room in order.
We have a lot of house projects scheduled for  this year and I would love to take a vacation to a warm island, maybe even see one of my blog buddies and a professor I use to work with. On to my project.

APRIL 18, 2012***WEDNESDAY***HAPPY BIRTHDAY***

Hi!! Me again,
Another post, I know crazy me, but remember I told you I was going to pop the balloons on there to give it extra layering.  Well, I did I cut them from lyrical letter that is a super cartridge there are a lot of other shapes on there that you would never expect, being a font cartridge and all.

So well I was snooping around the blogs I found it is Madison's 17th birthday, if you get a chance go wish her a happy birthday. She is such a sweet heart, with compassion beyond her years.
 Happy Birthday Madison

Yesterday was awesome, it was a beautiful warm day, we were outside most of the time for the -HPC- (Homeless project Connect)
When I got home I sat in the chair and slept for over an hour and never moved.  I must have been exhausted. I met a new friend named Josh he is 4  and we colored together.  We both share green as our favorite color.  When we said good bye  he asked, " Will I ever see you again?"
My heart could have just melted, " I replied I sure hope so."
Kids just say the cutest things.

Challenge:
BBTB2: balloons

APRIL 16, 2012***MONDAY***FEEL BETTER SOON***

Good Morning Friends,

This will be a busy week, new beginnings and ending of projects.  I think I will take a breather after this week is over.  I have had so many multiple projects going on. When I say multiple I mean projects that need to be mass produced. I like doing multiples, once I get to that stage, it is a no brain-er and I can think about other things or/and new ideas.

APRIL 15, 2012***SUNDAY***THY KINGDOM COME***

Good Evening Friends,

If these tags go quickly I will be making about 100 of them, maybe more if I have time. They are part of a portion of a program at my church. I really like the simplicity of it and the colors and love translucency of the vellum  which works well for the feel I am trying to get across

I used vellum  and the spellbinder to make the shaped tag and the heart earth, came from Give a hoot.  On the very back it will read  " Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven"  or "In the beginning God created heaven and earth.

I haven't decided that part yet.

I like the twine at the top because it is very earthy, it is actually hemp.

I am entering this in:
Stamping sisters in Christ: use vellum
Krafty girls earth day
Go Fish: Anything goes
Bunny Zoes crafts: ribbon or twine

I love to read your comments. Hugs Diana

APRIL 14, 2012***SATURDAY***THE EYES HAVE IT***

Good Evening friends,

I really have just hung around the house most of today and cooked and cleaned  and of course the never ending story ---- laundry. Where does it all come from.........??

As you know, I am always working on some type of art project along with making cards. I just finished the 200 cards for the women's conference last week. They seem to take forever, because I had to keep putting them away and then getting them back out, it was kind of like a production line mass producing, but adding a little extra or something different to each one.  They came out great and  I am sure everyone will be happy when they get theirs.

So I did have time this week  to work on one of my favorite motivation inspiration charges--none other than--

ATC's  - this one is called "The Eyes Have it"
I am entering it into  Art with no Boundaries.

I hope you are all having a good evening , Hugs Diana
